Body Painting Halloween 2010

Body Painting Halloween 2010

Halloween is about celebrating a fright night by looking as scary as possible. This scary night is represented by gruesome faces such as ghosts, dead bodies, spirits, blood-sucking vampires, and many others. The fear night participants wear different costumes. The costumes are supplemented with bloodcurdling makeup.

Any kind of makeup starts with health, and safety. You should make sure that the makeup may not produce skin allergy. You may check it on the inner side of the arm. If you develop any rash, that kind of makeup is not for you. The best way is to select the FDA approved makeup accessories.

After getting the right kind of makeup for your skin, the next step is to prepare your skin for applying makeup. For this, you need to clean your face with soap, or any appropriate face wash. Apply some petroleum jelly to your face. Close the pores of skin by washing with chilled water. On one hand, this will protect your skin, and on the other hand, it is a best trick to remove the makeup easily.

Once you have prepared your skin for the new look, you may move towards your desired face makeup. It starts with making prosthetics such as fake nose, chin, and cheeks. These are the latex prosthetics that stick to the skin, and become its part. These prosthetics need to be sealed with the castor sealer to protect them from fading. After sealing, the prosthetics can be easily coloured with a non-latex sponge according to your desired design.

Coming back to the face, you need to apply foundation to the face. You can use powder cake as well as liquid base. The base is spread with the help of a puff or a sponge. The base colour is chosen according to the desired look. The beast look requires black base while the white colour is patent for the ghost look. The applied prosthetics are blended with the base to make it look natural.

After completing the foundation, it is the time to build your creature over it. The core makeup process includes making nasty scratches, scars, gory gashes, and sores. Here you need to highlight certain parts of the face as per the scary character. The highlighting can be done with blood red and brown colours. You may also use any darker colour instead of the base.

You can also use wax and liquid red paint to make the bleeding wounds. This process can also be used to make wrinkles. You may also add some corn syrup or oatmeal to give a rough appearance to the makeup.

Finally, before drying, you can use rough paintbrush to make scratches on certain parts. You may also use the shading techniques to make rough skin. The makeup is completed with the hairstyling. This all depends on the character. For a witch, you may keep them open. In other cases, it is better to cover them with a hat or scarf. Following all the above-mentioned steps, anybody can become a witch, vampire, ghost, or whatever he/she want to be.
